Understanding hypnosis
Plain-language answers about the state, the process and common myths.
What is hypnosis in simple terms?
A focused state of attention in which you remain aware and can engage with imagery, language, sensation and rehearsal more deliberately.
Is hypnosis the same as sleep?
No. A person may feel relaxed, but hypnosis is normally an attentive and interactive state rather than ordinary sleep.
Is hypnosis mind control?
No. You retain judgement, can speak, can reject suggestions and can stop the session.
Will I reveal secrets?
Hypnosis does not force disclosure. You decide what you share, just as in an ordinary conversation.
Will I forget the session?
Most people remember the session. Amnesia is not a goal of HypnoReset.
Do I have to believe in hypnosis?
No special belief is required. Curiosity, informed consent and willingness to follow the process are more useful.
Can everyone be hypnotised?
Responsiveness varies. Most people can engage with some form of focused attention, but no specific depth or outcome is guaranteed.
What does Ericksonian hypnosis mean?
It describes a flexible, conversational approach associated with psychiatrist Milton H. Erickson, using individual language, attention and personal resources rather than a rigid script.
Category 02
Awareness, control and safety
What you experience and the practical safeguards used online.
Can I stop during a session?
Yes. You can speak, move, open your eyes and stop whenever you choose.
What if I feel uncomfortable?
Say so immediately. The pace, language or exercise can be changed or the session can stop.
Can I attend while driving?
No. Sessions must never take place while driving, operating equipment or in another unsafe setting.
Can I attend after drinking alcohol?
No. Attend sober and not under the influence of non-prescribed substances.
Should someone else be in the room?
Usually privacy is preferable. Any exception should be agreed in advance and must preserve your consent and confidentiality.
What if the internet disconnects?
A reconnection plan is agreed before beginning. You remain safe and in control if the call drops.
Can hypnosis recover perfectly accurate memories?
No. Memory is reconstructive and hypnosis must not be presented as a way to guarantee accurate recall.
Is deep relaxation required?
No. Useful focused work can occur with light relaxation or in a more alert conversational state.
Category 03
Online sessions
The format, equipment and environment needed for remote work.
Can hypnosis work over video?
Online work can be suitable when the goal is clear, the connection is stable and the environment is private. The free call checks the fit.
Which video platform do you use?
The platform is confirmed before booking. It must be accessible, stable and appropriate for a private one-to-one call.
Do I need headphones?
Headphones are helpful for privacy and clarity but are not essential if you can hear comfortably.
Should I sit or lie down?
Choose a safe, comfortable position that allows you to remain engaged without risk of falling.
How quiet must the room be?
It should be private and free from likely interruptions. Ordinary distant background noise is not necessarily a problem.
Can I use a phone instead of a computer?
Yes, if it is stable, charged, positioned safely and not likely to receive disruptive calls.
What if we are in different time zones?
The appointment is confirmed with the time zone stated clearly for both sides.
Can a session be audio-only?
That depends on the objective and safety. The fit call determines whether audio-only work is appropriate.

Can you diagnose anxiety or depression?
No. Diagnosis belongs with appropriately qualified healthcare professionals.
Can hypnosis replace medication?
No. Never stop or change prescribed medication based on this service or website.
Do you work with trauma?

What happens if my request is outside scope?
The service may be declined or stopped, with a recommendation to seek a more appropriate professional.
Can I use the service during a crisis?
No. HypnoReset is not emergency or crisis support. Contact the appropriate local emergency or crisis service.
Do you work with children?
No. The current international online offer is for adults aged 18 and over.
Category 05
Goals and expectations
How an objective is chosen and what responsible progress looks like.
How specific should my goal be?
Specific enough to describe when the pattern happens and what you would prefer to do instead.
Can I work on several issues at once?
The first step is usually one priority. Related patterns can be considered after the objective is clear.
Can you guarantee a result?
No. Results vary and no responsible practitioner should guarantee a personal outcome.
How many sessions will I need?
That depends on the objective, context and response. The free call discusses a reasonable format without promising a number.
Is one session sometimes enough?
Some objectives are focused, but no one-session result can be promised in advance.
What if nothing changes immediately?
That is possible. The work and objective can be reviewed honestly rather than explaining every outcome as hidden success.
Do I need homework?
A simple rehearsal, observation or routine may be suggested when useful. It should be proportionate and clearly explained.
Can hypnosis change another person?
No. The goal must concern your own response, behaviour or preparation.

How quickly will I receive a reply?
The stated target is a personal reply within 24 hours, excluding unusual interruptions or incomplete contact details.

Can I reschedule?

What happens if HypnoReset cancels?
You can choose a replacement appointment or a refund for the affected undelivered session.
